The research group
EM
concentrates on the design, analysis and implementation of innovative information and market
services from a customer relationship perspective. The emphasis is on the scalability of the
systems and algorithms, on the analysis of the dynamics of such services, and on the usability
and acceptance by customer. Application areas are social networks and organizations, electronic
markets, and recommender services. Strong ties to companies as well as to industrial and educational
research groups provide the solid foundation for best results and sustainable solutions of research
group EM.

The research group
IM
focuses on market engineering and the design of services and incentives in distributed systems.
A key factor for our success is the structured, systematic and theoretically founded approach
towards the analysis, design, quality assurance and continuous development of markets and incentive
schemes. Consequently, our research projects develop their full interdisciplinarity together with
partners from industry and science.
